Kartel to sponsor Irish Open

Irish clothing brand Kartel has been announced as the official clothing supplier for the 2010 Irish Open by The European Tour.

Irish clothing brand Kartel has been announced as the official clothing supplier for the 2010 Irish Open by The European Tour.

The firm, which carries an extensive golf clothing range, will provide branded uniforms for all marshals, scoreboard staff and championship staff working at the event which takes place in the Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, in Kerry from Thursday 29 July to Sunday 1 August.

Kartel, is a long-time sponsor of three time major winner Padraig as well as Irish up-and-comers Paul O’Hanlon, Cian McNamara, Barrie Trainer, Alan Murray and European Tour player Gary Murphy.

Commenting on the announcement Karl Swan, Kartel’s managing director said, “As an Irish brand we are especially proud to once again be appointed as the Official Clothing Supplier to the Irish Open.

“Kartel has been working with established and up-and-coming pros for many years, and we are very excited about the prospect of another Kartel winner emerging from some of the most exciting golfers in the world, at one of the most beautiful venues in the world. It should be a phenomenal few days of golf.”

Ben Watson, championship director of the 3 Irish Open added, “To have the support of a prominent Irish brand such as Kartel brings confidence to the tournament as we build up to what is promising to be a great event at the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club over the August Bank Holiday weekend.”
