If you’re out and about in Ireland this evening then please take extreme caution as Storm Desmond looks set to wreak havoc and destroy umbrellas all over the country. It seems that Connacht, Donegal, Clare and Kerry will be the biggest sufferers but wherever you are, be safe.
The red weather status has come into effect as hundreds of homes in the West and Northwest are already without power. Almost 200 ESB customers are offline in the Galway area and there’s a similar number without power in northern Donegal.
