PICS: Man excellently goes full Italian Job after his car is locked in school car park

Alan Loughnane

Essentially, he was locked in a car park, but he found a way out…

Brian Daly returned to his car on Thursday after parking it in the car park of a local school, only to find that he had been locked into the car park.

According to Brian, the area is a popular place to park and despite the sign stating that the car park would remain open until 10:50, when he arrived at his car, it had been locked inside the gates along with other cars belonging to the public.

He wrote an extremely detailed email to the Parents Association and Board of Management where he discussed the entire incident.

This is where things started to get good. “I’ll explain to you what happened next… just for the craic,”

“Some bolt cutters and imagination. But mainly the bolt cutters.”

It wouldn’t be a jailbreak story without a Shawshank Redemption reference…

As you read above, after cutting their way out of the car park, they replaced the lock on the gate and handed in the keys to the secretary. However, wires must have been crossed because the school cut the new lock off the gate later that day.

Brian, who works as a magician, has now offered to perform a show for them in order to pay for a new sign with the correct time. They’d probably make enough from the show to pay for the new lock as well…
