The success of their Big Pony shirts featuring oversized polo player logos have inspired Ralph Lauren to launch a new range of men’s fragrances that are aimed primarily (though not exclusively) at 18-30 year-old men.

There are four to choose from in this all-new range, and to keep things simple they’ve be put in bright-coloured bottles and called them No.1, No.2, No.3 and No.4 – names that even we frazzled JOE folk can remember.

That there are four new fragrances are to be released stems from the fact that there are four players in a polo team.

Scent 1 is the sporty one (with citrusy hints of lime and grapefruit), scent 2 is the seductive one (a pairing of dark chocolate and musk), scent 3 is the adventurous one (a mix of mint and ginger), and finally scent four is the stylish one (a combination of mandarin and kyarawood).

At €49 per bottle, they’re quite posh without being too scary and will be available nationwide from August onwards.

JOE’s favourites? After much spraying and a lot of frankly unmanly sniffing of each other’s wrists, our winners are numbers 2 and 4.
