Do you like beans touching the rest of your breakfast? Have you ever smuggled sausages abroad? Both topics are addressed in a very thorough Denny survey about Irish people and their breakfast habits.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and in Ireland that’s most certainly the case. We all know of our own habits when it comes to gobbling down the fry of a Saturday or Sunday morning but have you ever wondered how your habits compare with the rest of the nation? Thanks to Denny, you don’t have to wonder any more.

In a quest to find out what makes an Irish family breakfast so special Denny, Ireland’s favourite breakfast brand, have been asking some tough questions to find out how to make breakfast even better and their special breakfast census – let’s face it, it sounds way more tasty and appealing than an actual census – has revealed some very interesting results indeed.

Did you know, for example, that nearly half of Irish people (45 per cent) have smuggled sausages in their suitcases when going abroad? Don’t like the beans touching the rest of your breakfast on your plate? 47 per cent of Irish people feel the same way, which is why Denny have created the Ultimate Breakfast Plate with a dedicated Beans Zone, allowing everyone enjoy their breakfast in peace.

Two thirds of us enjoy a fry together at least once every weekend and 30 per cent of Irish people think that the breakfast table should be a newspaper, phone and computer-free zone. Damn straight.

Not only have Denny uncovered the tasty and saucy secrets of the Irish breakfast table, to celebrate the findings of the Denny Breakfast Census, the makers of Ireland’s favourite breakfast are offering the Irish public to chance to win a brand new kitchen worth €5,000 (£4,200).
