The man from Burberry

Creative Director of Burberry, Christopher Bailey is referred to as England’s answer to Tom Ford as, like Ford, he’s both a fashion icon and business man.

Since joining the brand in 2001, he has transformed the 150-year-old British manufacturer with an oh-so-dusty past and what looked like a chav-tastic future into one of the hottest international fashion labels.

Despite what you may expect he tends to dress in jeans and a t-shirt (although rarely without a jacket).

When asked by GQ what he considers the modern Burberry man to be, he replied: “A beautifully tailored jacket, but maybe the cuffs are undone and maybe the shirt is a little bit wrinkled…a dishevelled elegance.”

The down-to-earth Yorkshire designer is described as engaging, charming and reflective… the whole package. He is not only the embodiment of Burberry cool but a quintessential modern day gent.

Get the look…

Lee Jeans, from Urban Outfitters, Temple Bar, Dublin

It can be difficult to find worn-in blue jeans that do not look too casual. These have the perfect amount and can be suitable for both day and night.

Reiss, St Stephen’s Green, €35.

This colour shirt is great with denims and looks seriously stylish under a good trench.

ASOS merino v-neck, www.asos.com, £25 (sterling)

This comes in a range of colours and looks great with a crisp round neck t-shirt underneath. A classic yet simple look.
