It’s a landslide folks.
We were pleasantly surprised by the response to the JOE Men of the Year awards, but in terms of individual categories, the reaction to the Rising Star award blew us away.
Just under 44,000 people voted on a category that represented a host of Irish men that rose to prominence in the last 12 months; people might not have known who they were in January but they sure do now.
To say the result of the poll was emphatic would be an understatement, with 86.66% of people voting for a man whose sketches have taken the Internet by storm in the last year.
Needless to say, his 3.69 million fans on Facebook might have influenced the result of the poll just a tad.
