You've obviously heard how amazing Mayo is (probably from your Mayo pals who won't shut up about it), but the next time you and your friends have some free time, you need to hop in the car and head for this crackin' county in the West. Once you have your bags packed and your roadtrip playlist sorted, stick these two activities at the top of your list of brilliant things to do.

Coasteering

If you've never heard of coasteering then you're in for a treat. A mixture of rock climbing, cliff jumping and adrenaline-pumping action, it's a completely unique way to check out Ireland's incredible western coast like you've never seen it before. The best thing to do is get in touch with the Big Style crew at their Atlantic Lodge, a super cool group of ridiculously fit (in all senses of the word) individuals who'll be able to show you every hidden nook and cranny along the majestic Mayo coastline. If you love adventure, you'll love this.

Climb Croagh Patrick

At 764m high, The Reek may not be Ireland's highest peak, but it's certainly one of its most stunning. Make sure you have your supplies at the ready – water, sun cream, obligatory bacon roll for fuel – and get trekking to the top. Just try not to be too disheartened when a group of 11-year-olds zoom on past you while doing the whole thing in their bare feet and Snapchatting the shit out of it. Kids, eh? Pricks. Whatever shape you're in when you reach the top though, it doesn't really matter, because the moment you set foot on the summit, you'll forget every single ache, pain and strain it took to get there as you're simply blown away by the breathtaking view of Mayo's Clew Bay below you. And when you eventually do make it back down to the base, make sure you go for a well-deserved, refreshing drink in Campbell's pub. Plus, they do a mean chicken goujons and chips.
