One of Ireland’s proudest moments.
The folks over at Burning House Productions have put together a video that’s guaranteed to get your green, white and gold juices flowing in the lead-up to this year’s 1916 commemorations.
The video features footage from Ireland’s war of independence, including clips of Michael Collins and former-Taoiseach and President De Valera. Accompanying these scenes is De Valera’s barn-storming speech to Churchill, highlighting the then-Prime Minister’s hypocrisy in his treatment of Ireland compared to his treatment of European countries subjugated by Nazi Germany.
