Remind us never to enter a Tough Mudder event.
Extreme endurance or obstacle running events sare all the rage these days. Going for a simple 10k, or even a marathon isn’t enough these days. It has to be in the Antarctic, or done in high heels, or feature enough barriers to put a Grand National horse off. But sure, whatever you’re into yourself.
One of these events is the Tough Mudder, who at least get some points for having a cool name. Based on a military assault course, these 10 or 12 mile tests look like sheer torture and feature every possible combination of strength, agility, water and mud. Lots and lots of mud.
Very popular in the US, the Buffalo race took place over the weekend and one poor fella came a cropper at the very last obstacle, known as Electroshock Therapy. Featuring a gauntlet of live wires, the shock might give you the boost you need to drag your tired ass over the line but somehow this competitor managed to almost cut his own head off with one of the stray wires.
Luckily, as you will see, he survived the ordeal, finished the race and was even well enough to joke about it in the comments under the YouTube clip, thanking the camera person for capturing the moment.
