“Does she understand the expression ‘This is becoming a pain in the you-know-whats?’”

Legendary presenter and national icon Gay Byrne can look back on a career filled with great moments on the tellybox, but, for some, his best work was when he was the subject of a famous prank by Michael Murphy at Trinity College.

As it happened in the early 80s, many of you will be too young to remember it but, suffice to say, it’s probably about as mad as Gaybo ever got in front of a camera, having had his thunder stolen repeatedly by an attention seeking French tourist that looked an awful lot like Mike Murphy.

To mark the return of global sweetheart and M&M’s spokes-candy, Ms Green, to the Emerald Isle to trace her green roots, she took part in a recreation of the original sketch alongside Uncle Gaybo (played by Mario Rosenstock) with similarly hilarious results.

Uncle Gaybo was proud to reveal that Ms Green will embark on an official Tour of Ireland to meet new friends, search out intelligence and get one step closer to finding her long lost cousins (12 times removed). Her whistle-stop green tour will include, but not be limited to:

  •  A visit to the city of tribes where she’ll take in the best of shopping and glamour in the company of a famous Galway Girl
  • Limerick to meet the world’s most desirable man
  • Kilkenny for a puck around with a famous All-Star

If you think you might be one of Ms Green’s long-lost cousins, there could be a reward in it for you as M&Ms Ireland are giving away €5,000 to one lucky ‘cousin’ to throw the mother of all shindigs during the greenest time of year.

All you have to do to be in with a chance to win is to log onto the M&Ms Ireland Facebook page and send Ms Green your best selfie. Easy, right?

Also, winning comes with an irresistibility warning: entrants are reminded that Ms Green is ‘here for the craic, not as a snack’.
