Video: This is what being eaten alive by an anaconda looks like

We just can’t get our head around the stupidity and craziness of this stunt…

We just can’t get our head around the stupidity and craziness of this stunt…

It has been in the pipeline for weeks and this weekend it happened when wildlife conservationist Paul Rosolie was ‘eaten alive’ by an anaconda on television.

However, it must be pointed out that the results were… well, entirely disappointing.

Discovery’s show called ‘Eaten Alive’ was shown on TV screens all around the world at the weekend and was due to show the American naturalist, explorer, author, rainforest/wildlife specialist Paul Rosolie being consumed by a massive snake.

Rosolie was dressed in body armour and smeared in pig’s blood to entice the serpent into thinking that Paul would make an ideal supper.

The snake contorted itself around Paul and there is an extremely tense moment when the snake starts to swallow his head…

Our reaction at that precise moment was something like this…

Unfortunately (or fortunately, we don’t really know which), the snake’s grip on Paul was too tight and he called in help because he thought it was going to break his arm.

So all in all, the weeks of promise were a bit of a let-down, but some of us here in JOE Towers* have a pathological fear of snakes so we aren’t too disappointed that the snake didn’t have his feed.

*We live in a Tower because we like to think snakes can’t climb stairs. They can’t, right? RIGHT?
