Amongst the Wolves, a new Irish crime thriller movie from director Mark O'Connor (Cardboard Gangsters) and featuring Golden Globe nominee Aidan Gillen (Kin), has finally secured an Irish release date.
Landing in cinemas next month, the film is co-written by O'Connor and his frequent collaborator Luke McQuillan (Darklands) and is described as "an unflinching look at the intense, gritty underworld of organised crime and the fragile loyalties that bind it together".
McQuillan stars as Danny, a homeless former soldier haunted by PTSD who forms an unlikely bond with troubled teenager Will (newcomer Daniel Fee) while he navigates the dangers of life on the streets.

Gillen, meanwhile, plays Power - a local criminal who crosses paths with Danny and Will.
Also part of the cast is Dane Whyte O'Hara (Darklands), Helen Behan (Small Things Like These), Jade Jordan (Twig), Louise Bourke (Let The Wrong One In), as well as rapper Sello.
Love/Hate star Peter Coonan also has a cameo role.
In a statement, O'Connor said: “We made this film independently and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible cast and crew. It’s very exciting that we are now opening in cinemas."
Having earned strong reviews on the festival circuit, Amongst the Wolves opens in Irish cinemas on Friday, 2 May.
