An all-star cast feature in this truly debauched tale.
For the third time, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie are working together on a movie, but for the first time, they'll actually be sharing a scene together!
Yep, the stars of The Big Short and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood reunite for upcoming drama Babylon, which sees the duo joined on screen by (deep breath) Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, P.J. Byrne, Lukas Haas, Olivia Hamilton, Tobey Maguire, Max Minghella, Rory Scovel, Katherine Waterston, Flea, Jeff Garlin, Eric Roberts, Ethan Suplee, Samara Weaving and Olivia Wilde.
Written and directed by Damien Chazelle - the Oscar-winning mind behind the likes of La La Land, Whiplash and First Man - the movie's official synopsis is "an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles, a tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, ittraces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence anddepravity in early Hollywood."
From this newly released trailer, that ambition and excess is there for all to see, as we get what feel like nods to famous scenes from the likes of The Wolf Of Wall Street and The Great Gatsby, where the search for a good time ultimately devoured any sense of self-preservation.
Which is pretty much crystalised by the final scene, in which Robbie offers to "fight a f*king snake", to which the crowd goes absolutely wild. Bring it on, we guess!
As we mentioned in our predictions for the ten Best Picture Oscar nominees, Babylon is one of the few big productions still not to debut at an international festival, but that isn't going to stop it from being a major awards contender.
Babylon arrives in Irish cinemas on 20 January 2023.
