Best Netflix TV shows

Stuck for something to watch? Here are some of the best Netflix TV shows as of September 2018.

Sometimes Netflix gets a hard time as people often complain that it’s easy to spend more time trying to find the best Netflix TV shows rather than actually watching something. You may be doing that right now.

But this isn’t Netflix’s fault. There’s just too much choice.

So we’ve compiled this list of the top TV shows on Netflix that you should really see before you watch anything else.

FYI, we’re trying to keep it as fresh as possible with the best Netflix TV shows that are relatively new or have added new episodes relatively recently and are available to watch right now.

Basically, if you haven’t seen classics like Breaking Bad and Peaky Blinders yet then you need to change that!

Better Call Saul (IMDB rating 8.7/10)

Netflix synopsis: This Emmy-nominated prequel to Breaking Bad follows small-time attorney Jimmy McGill as he transforms into morally-challenged lawyer Saul Goodman

JOE verdict: Whisper it, but it could end up being better than Breaking Bad. Just like its iconic predecessor, Better Call Saul keeps getting better with every passing episode.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (IMDB rating 8.8/10)

Netflix synopsis: A group of narcissistic friends runs a Philadelphia bar where their juvenile behaviour brings them into trouble.

JOE verdict: It’s the greatest comedy on TV and we’re expecting Season 13 to be added very soon.

Ozark (IMDB rating 8.3/10)

Netflix synopsis: A financial advisor drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder $500 million in five years to appease a drug boss.

JOE verdict: It’s not the greatest drama you’ll ever see but there’s something incredibly addictive about it – mainly the strong performances by Jason Bateman, Laura Linney and a strong supporting cast.

American Horror Story (IMDB rating 8.1/10)

Netflix synopsis: The twisted Emmy-award winning drama plays upon the power of supernatural fears and everyday horrors, exploring humankind’s unsettling capacity for evil.

JOE verdict: They’ve added new seasons and just like any anthology show, some seasons are stronger than others. General rule of thumb, if Jessica Lange is in it then it’s worth watching.

Archer (IMDB rating 8.7)

Netflix synopsis: Suave, sophisticated spy Archer may have the coolest gadgets, but he still has issues when it comes to dealing with his boss, who is also his mother.

JOE verdict: Ever hear the one about the best comedy/cartoon that not enough people are watching?

Cocaine Coast (IMDB rating 8.2/10)

Netflix synopsis: In 1980s Galicia, Spain, a young fisherman becomes a prosperous cocaine smuggler by providing Latin American suppliers with a European entry point.

JOE verdict: Essential for anyone that loves Narcos.

Last Chance U (IMDB rating 8.5/10)

Netflix synopsis: Elite athletes with difficult pasts turn to junior college football for a last shot at turning their lives around and achieving their dreams.

JOE verdict: There are times when real life drama is better than anything scripted. Well worth a look for people that love American Football and for sports fans in general.

Power (IMDB rating 8.2/10)

Netflix synopsis: In this absorbing crime drama, a successful and well-liked nightclub owner moonlights as a drug dealer to New York City’s A-list users.

JOE verdict: It’s one of those shows that instantly hooks you and keeps getting better.

Sacred Games (IMDB rating 9.1/10)

Netflix synopsis: A link in their respective pasts leads an honest cop to a fugitive gang boss, whose cryptic warning spurs the officer on a quest to save Mumbai from cataclysm.

JOE verdict: One of the best Netflix originals in recent memory. Incredibly tense and gripping.
