Brenda Fricker Funeral To Take Place In Dublin Today

Brenda Fricker remembered as a national treasure

She went on to become a familiar face internationally through roles in The Field, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, A Time to Kill and Veronica Guerin. In February this year she was awarded the Freedom of the City of Dublin, an honour her agent Phil Belfield said she was particularly thrilled and proud of.

Her funeral mass will be broadcast online and on the RTÉ News channel, with a private burial to follow. Her funeral notice said she was predeceased by her husband Barry, mother Bina, father Desmond and sister Gráinne.
