Conversations in Bed, a "fully improvised" Irish movie, will have its world premiere next month at the prestigious Galway Film Fleadh.
The debut feature of director Dean Conway, the film is described as a "chamber piece". Its story takes place over two separate days in the life of a young man, "through languid mornings in bed with two different girls, years apart".
"The first day takes place in the summer before his final year of school, and the second, years later, in the university area of Belfast," the plot synopsis adds.
Conversations in Bed was reportedly made with no traditional script, with its improvisational approach inspired by directors like Andrea Arnold, John Cassavetes, and Shane Meadows.
The project is billed as the first ever fully improvised feature film from Northern Ireland, and the first feature film made in this style in the Emerald Isle since 2012.
Starring Grace McMahon, Jonny Grogan, and Skye McClenaghan, the Galway Film Fleadh says about their performances: "Working without a script, the three lead actors bring a level of intimacy and authenticity to the film and their characters."
Conversations in Bed will premiere at the festival on Wednesday, 8 July.
