JOE still hasn’t forgiven Butler for his, frankly, atrocious turn in ‘P.S. I Love You’ (we were only in the cinema looking for a way out of the cinema, honest).

However, that hasn’t stopped those Hollywood bigwigs from offering the 44-year-old Scottish star a role made famous by the late Patrick Swayze in Kathryn Bigelow’s early ’90s original.

“The new version is set in the world of international extreme sports, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring,” a spokesperson from Alcon Entertainment told Variety.

Ericson Core, who made his name on The Fast And The Furious as cinematographer, will direct.

The role of FBI agent Johnny Utah, played by Keanu Reeves in the original, has yet to be cast.
