Good News Irish film fans! The Stag is now available on Netflix

Who doesn’t love a good stag party?

Oisin Collins

Calling all Irish film lovers and stags-to-be who are seeking out ideas for a stag party to remember (for all the wrong reasons)… Netflix now has the perfect film for you.

You can now stream 2014’s The Stag, featuring Andrew Scott, Hugh O’Conor & Peter McDonald, over on the Irish Netflix. WOO-HOO!

So what’s The Stag all about then? Well, basically, a groom-to-be agrees to hold his stag party in the great Irish outdoors, but the weekend takes a turn for the weird when the bride’s boorish brother shows up. The horror…

Netflix describes the flick as follows: “Self-confessed metrosexual Fionnan doesn’t want a stag do, but would happily attend the Hen. Ruth, the now concerned bride-to-be (Amy Huberman), promptly persuades the, marginally more-macho, best man (Andrew Scott, Sherlock) to organise one.

“Reluctantly, he agrees but proceeds to do everything he can to stop Ruth’s wildly infamous brother, known only as The Machine (Peter McDonald, Moone Boy), coming along for their sober, walking-weekend, excuse for a stag party.

“But The Machine, not so easily foxed, tracks them down, and what follows is a hilarious few days in rural Ireland where the Stags find themselves lost, shot at, stoned and butt-naked.”

We know what we’ll be streaming later tonight…
