Answering the big questions like… ‘What’s Salmon like in real life?’

The answer to that question, according to Martin Maloney, AKA Eddie Durkan, is “pretty much like Salmon in the show” and it’s that sort of insight into the lives of Castletown’s finest you can expect in a new Hardy Bucks podcast.

Launched at the end of March, the podcast represents the latest platform for the men from Mayo, who have already had their own TV series and their own movie and were exposed to international audiences when the show was launched on Netflix earlier this year.

The podcast is hosted by Maloney (Eddie Durkan) and features contributions from the Hardy Bucks fans know and love, such as The Boo, Sim Card (Kevin McGahern), Stevie ‘Cowboy Lavin’ Kelly and Owen ‘Buzz’ Colgan.

In the podcast, the lads discuss the events of the day as well as adventures from their eventful past, both in Castletown and when on tour, like the time The Boo got too liquored up on a trip to Lahinch, found love with girls from Meath at a house party and insisted on staying the weekend.

The first episode, meanwhile, also features an interview with Steve Brody, who will be known to TV viewers from his roles in the likes of The Office, Extras and After Life.

Speaking to JOE, Martin Maloney described the podcast as “a bit of craic”, “hilarious” and said that “it’ll make for cosy listening for homesick lads abroad”.
