Irish actress Evanna Lynch pays a touching tribute to Alan Rickman on Facebook

It looks like everyone loved him.

It says a great deal about Alan Rickman that, in addition to the many tributes paid to him by fans of his work, those who knew him better have been equally glowing in their praise of him as a professional and as a person.

Irish actress Evanna Lynch, perhaps best known for her role as Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, added her voice to the long list of mourners with a very heartfelt Facebook note yesterday.

The status tells the story of a time the two actors met at a charity dinner and some incredibly thoughtful advice Rickman offered to the young Irish actress. Stories like this seem to be a recurring theme of the recollections of those who knew Rickman best.
