Jack Black has finally made it into Billboard’s Hot 100 for the first time in his career with his The Super Mario Bros. Movie song 'Peaches'. The anthem for the new fantasy adventure film, released this month, debuted at number 83 in the top 100, with fans calling the tune a "masterpiece".
Black voices Bowser, the King of the Koopas who rules the Dark Lands in the film. He wants to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom by marrying Princess Peach, who is voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy. You can check out JOE.ie's interview with Jack Black - in which he reveals and then performs his favourite karaoke song of all time - right here:
The tune is based on Black’s unrequited love for Peach, with the heartfelt ballad winning plenty of plaudits. In it, he sings: "Peach, you’re so cool. And with my star we’re gonna rule. Peach, understand, I’m gonna love you ’til the very end. Princess Peach, at the end of the line, I’ll make you mine."
In recent weeks during the press tour for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Black revealed the primary reason why actors do animated movies (check that out here), picked the perfect actor to play the villainous Wario in the inevitable sequel (right here), his co-star Anya Taylor-Joy revealed that Jack Black movies helped her to learn English (read that one here). Meanwhile, the movie itself has gone to break LOADS of box office records, proving to be very popular with cinema-goers the world over.
