Jaime Lannister revealed a Game of Thrones spoiler two years ago and nobody noticed

Everyone laughed... except Jaime himself.

Paul Moore

We love the Kingslayer.

The journey of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen was the primary focus for Season 7 of Game of Thrones, but we’re firmly of the belief that their arcs were far less interesting than Jaime Lannister’s.

We’ve already expressed our love for the Kingslayer before, but like many other Thrones fans, we’re massive fans of the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.

When we first met Ser Jaime, we’re led to believe that he’s one of the main villains of the whole saga. Arrogant, spiteful, condescending and a man without honour, he’s one of the first characters that audiences loath, but that’s why he’s such an amazing character.

Game of Thrones revels in moral complexity and as Season 7 has illustrated, the traditional definition of what separates the heroes from the villains has been eradicated.

Now that we know more about the Targaryen dynasty and the madness of King Aerys II, it’s clear why Jaime Lannister stabbed The Mad King in the back.

This being said, hardcore supporters of ‘Team Dany’ were probably hoping that Jaime died after he came charging at her and Drogon with a lance, but if you look at it another way, in his view, this was the quickest way to end a war that would ultimately cost thousands of lives.

Don’t forget the fact that Jaime had to endure his own traumatic PTSD of dealing with fire, dragons, people being burned alive and the Targaryens.

It’s clear that there’s still honour in this famous knight because he has finally left Cersei’s side after she reneged on her promise to help in the upcoming fight against the Night King’s army.

Despite Jaime’s good qualities, there’s still one thing that we can’t excuse… he was banging his sister!

More than two years ago, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was a guest on Conan, where he was asked to give the audience a bit of information about the new season.

Unknown to everyone that was watching at the time, he was just about to cryptically reveal that Jon Snow and his aunt Daenerys were about to start an incestuous relationship (1:30 onwards).

Very sneaky!
