Loads of new additions for Netflix subscribers to enjoy.

In the same week that Netflix is adding one of its best ever documentaries, they’ve also gifted subscribers with 22 more movies to their hefty film library. Here they all are, in alphabetical order, starting with…

Bastille Day

Idris Elba and Richard Madden star in this action thriller about a tourist accidentally held responsible for a terrorist attack in Paris.

Bird Box Barcelona

A spin-off to one of the biggest movies ever on Netflix.

The Commuter

One of the many “Liam Neeson is on a mode of transport and in real trouble” movies. This one is pretty fun, actually.

Dragged Across Concrete

Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn star in this dark and gritty thriller about two police detectives who get too involved in the criminal underworld they’re supposed to be investigating.

First Daughter

The daughter (Katie Holmes) of the US President (Michael Keaton) finds it tough to fall in love, until she goes to college! Rom and com is supposed to ensue, but the 8% on Rotten Tomatoes indicates neither actually arrive.

Free Fire

An impressive all-star cast – Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, Jack Reynor, Sharlto Copley, Armie Hammer, Sam Riley – star in this claustrophobic crime thriller about a gun deal gone awry.

Human Traffic

Danny Dyer is the most famous face in this comedy about a group of friends who live for the weekend. It is … fine. But it is VERY 90s.

The Lost City of Z

Based on the true story of an adventurer attempting to find a mysterious city in the Amazon, this well-reviewed adventure drama features Charlie Hunnam, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller.

Man On Fire

Denzel Washington is phenomenal in this revenge thriller about a bodyguard hunting down the men responsible for the kidnapping of the young daughter (Dakota Fanning) of a rich family.

The Out-Laws

A Netflix exclusive “comedy” about a young man (Adam DeVine) who believes his girlfriend’s parents (Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin) are famous bank robbers. Everyone involved deserves better than this.

Paycheck

Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman star in this dull sci-fi action thriller involving forced amnesia and big tech firms.

Plus One

We’d genuinely never heard of this rom-com before, but the 88% on Rotten Tomatoes caught our attention. Jack Quaid (The Boys) and Maya Erskine (PEN15) are two best friends who agree to be each other’s plus ones through a busy summer filled with other people’s weddings.

Profile

A tense mystery thriller about an undercover agent trying to infiltrate a terrorist organisation using nothing more than her laptop.

Silent House

Elizabeth Olsen stars in this bang average horror movie about a young woman trapped in a secluded house with nothing but supernatural entities for company.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

Tom Holland’s second solo outing as Spidey sees him take in a big European trip. Jake Gyllenhaal joins the cast as the mysterious, eh, Mysterio.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Holland’s first solo outing pairs him up a lot for RDJ’s Iron Man. Michael Keaton steals the show as one of the MCU’s best villains to date.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Arguably the best superhero movie of all time.

Submarine

Written and directed by Richard Ayoade, this romantic drama about a teenage boy trying to woo his classmate was well received by critics at the time.

The Terminal

One of the many Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg team-ups. This one tells the true story of a tourist who finds himself legally unable to leave the airport, as his country of origin ceased to exist while he was mid-flight.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

As spy movies go, this one is a slow burn, but also one of the very best the genre has ever had to offer. Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth and loads more deliver some career highlight performances.

What’s Your Number?

Anna Faris, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie and Chris Pratt star in this forgettable rom-com.

The Wolf Of Wall Street

DiCaprio and Scorsese’s fifth movie together, and their most commercially successful pairing. Their sixth project together is due for release later in 2023.
