Legion, the very fun 2010 action horror starring Paul Bettany (WandaVision), is airing on TV tonight (Friday, 9 January).
In the film, Bettany plays the Archangel Michael, who falls to Earth after rebelling against God.
His reason for this: God has lost faith in humanity and has sent the rest of his angels to destroy the human race.
To combat these apocalyptic forces, Michael travels to a diner under siege near the edge of the Mojave Desert in Los Angeles.
His mission is to protect a pregnant waitress (Adrianne Palicki, John Wick) whose unborn baby is destined to be humanity's saviour.
Comically dubbed "Angels with Uzis" upon release, the movie was not well-received by critics for the most part but was a hit at the box office.
We're siding with audiences on this one. The film's great cast, its biblically-inspired story, and its premise - in which the fate of the world hinges on what happens in a claustrophobic cafe in the desert - make Legion worth a watch or revisit.
Having spawned a sequel series that ran for two seasons titled Dominion, the original Legion is airing on TV tonight on Film4 at 11.05pm.
It is also available to rent on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, Rakuten TV and the Sky Store.
