In the second piece Theroux will visit King's College Hospital in London and meet patients who are suffering from substance abuse who are on the verge of drinking themselves to death.
In a recent Facebook post, BBC2 Editor Adam Barker, said they are: 'delighted to welcome Louis Theroux back to the channel with a set of films covering British subjects with his usual penetrating documentary gaze and commitment to unpicking complex human dilemmas with highly sophisticated filmmaking'.
Theroux will also be releasing his second documentary on British TV presenter and suspected paedophile Jimmy Saville later this year, 16 years after the original BBC programme, When Louis Met Jimmy.
Exact dates are not yet confirmed for the release of the shows.
