Love/Hate actor and Traveller’s rights activist John Connors addresses Late Late Show interview in astonishing Facebook post

Carl Kinsella

Essential reading for anyone who values equality.

John Connors’ appearance on The Late Late Show last night to speak on his experiences as both an actor and a member of Ireland’s often-maligned Travelling community was met with controversy.

Connors took to Facebook today to addressed the varied response to his assertions on the show, categorising some of those responses as positive but some of them as ‘racist.’

But the main theme of his Facebook post was a challenge to what he characterised as Ryan Tubridy’s ‘denial of racism against Travellers.’

Connors went on to give many emotional, if not heart-wrenching, examples of subjugation faced by Travellers in Ireland.
