A star-studded adaptation of a classic novel is among the movies on TV tonight

There are lots of options this evening.

Struggling to find something to watch this Saturday night?

Well, earlier today JOE did flag nine big movies that have just been quietly added to Netflix.

However, if you are still seeking something else to check out, here are the movie options on the box for this evening.

The Amazing Spider-Man – Virgin Media One – 8.30pm

The first with Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – W – 9pm

The US adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s bestseller featuring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara.

Venom – Film4 – 9pm

Tom Hardy is a blast in this fun if very flawed superhero flick.

Hanna – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Saoirse Ronan plays a teenage assassin in this excellent action-thriller with a great soundtrack by The Chemical Brothers.

High Plains Drifter – ITV 4 – 9pm

The first western Clint Eastwood directed.

Daddy’s Home 2 – Comedy Central – 9pm

This follow-up to the 2015 Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell-starring comedy adds John Lithgow and Mel Gibson to the mix.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again – RTÉ One – 9.15pm

Both a prequel and a sequel to the 2008 smash-hit musical.

Jason Bourne – RTÉ2 – 9.15pm

After not appearing in The Bourne Legacy, Matt Damon returns as the title character.

Veronica Guerin – TG4 – 9.30pm

Cate Blanchett plays Irish journalist Veronica Guerin in this 2003 biopic directed by Joel Schumacher (Falling Down, Phone Booth).

Sherlock Holmes – Sky Showcase – 10pm

Robert Downey Jr. stars as literature’s most famous detective.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula – Film4 – 11.10pm

In our pick for tonight, The Godfather trilogy director Francis Ford Coppola helms this epic, lively and visually stunning adaptation of the legendary gothic novel Dracula.

The star-studded cast features Gary Oldman as the vampire, Winona Ryder as Mina Harker and Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker, along with Anthony Hopkins, Cary Elwes, Richard E. Grant and Tom Waits.

My Generation – BBC Two – 11.10pm

Narrated by Michael Caine, this documentary explores the cultural revolution that occurred in 1960’s England.

Pawn Sacrifice – RTÉ2 – 11.25pm

Tobey Maguire is famous chess player Bobby Fischer in this well-reviewed biopic.
