Climax – Film4 – 2.05am
If you are still up, you can check out our movies on TV pick for New Year’s Eve night – this psychological horror from provocateur filmmaker Gaspar Noé (Enter the Void, Irreversible).

Set in 1996, the film revolves around a French dance troupe (led by Sofia Boutella, Rebel Moon) as they mark the end of a days-long rehearsal in an abandoned school with a party. However, proceedings take a dark turn when a communal bowl of sangria is spiked with LSD, sending each of the dancers into agitated, confused and psychotic states.

While Climax’s often extreme and graphic scenes will absolutely not be for everybody, the movie’s journey from the incredible celebratory dance sequences of its first half to the truly disturbing and messed-up horror of its second half makes it unforgettable viewing.

Not for the faint-hearted, Climax is also available to rent on Microsoft for €2.99. Check out its trailer right here:
