A great and gritty crime thriller is among the movies on TV tonight

Stephen Porzio

End of Watch

It earned an 85% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Finally, Saturday is here – meaning more time to watch stuff.

In keeping with that, JOE recommended three movies and TV shows to check out this weekend in the video below.

However, for more viewing options, here are the films airing on TV this evening (26 November).

Air Force One / Force 10 from Navarone – Film4 – 9pm / 11.25pm

Two movies with Harrison Ford and the word “force” in their title are airing back-to-back on Film4 tonight.

The Enforcer – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

The third entry in the Clint Eastwood-led Dirty Harry film series.

The Gunman – Legend – 9pm

Sean Penn leads a great cast – including Idris Elba, Javier Bardem and Mark Rylance – in this action thriller that is sadly not very good.

Cold Skin – Horror Xtra – 9pm

In this atmospheric period horror, a young man arrives at a remote island to take the post of weather observer only to find himself defending the watchtower from deadly creatures which live in the island shores.

The Italian Job – Sky Showcase – 9.15pm

A fun American remake of the classic 1969 British heist film.

The Equalizer 2 – Channel 4 – 9.25pm

Denzel Washington returns in this sequel to the hit movie reboot of the classic ’80s crime show.

Taken – RTÉ2 – 9.30pm

Liam Neeson plays a man with a particular set of skills…

Bad Boys II – W – 9.40pm

“Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do?”

End of Watch

Our pick for tonight is the 2012 film End of Watch

Ghost Rider – MTV – 10pm

Nicolas Cage stars in this average pre-MCU Marvel flick as Johnny Blaze, a motorcycle stuntman who, after selling his soul to save a loved one’s life, is transformed into a supernatural demonic soul hunter.

Jackass 3 – Comedy Central – 10pm

The third in the comedy series.

The Five Year Engagement – TG4 – 10pm

In this rom-com, a man (Jason Segel) proposes to his girlfriend (Emily Blunt) but unexpected events keep tripping them up as they look to walk down the aisle together.

Rocky – ITV4 – 11pm

In this Oscar Best Picture winner, a small-time Philadelphia boxer (Sylvester Stallone, who also wrote the movie) gets a supremely rare chance to fight the world heavyweight champion.

Equilibrium – Turner Classic Movies – 11pm

Christian Bale stars in this sci-fi set in a future where feelings and artistic expression are outlawed.

Haunt – Horror Xtra – 11.05pm

This well-reviewed 2019 horror follows a group of friends who encounter an “extreme” haunted house that promises to feed on their darkest fears.

End of Watch – BBC One – 11.45pm

Our pick for tonight, End of Watch follows the daily grind of two young police officers and friends (Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña) who in the course of their work wind up coming up against a deadly drug cartel.

Thanks to its found footage style and naturalistic lead performances, this crime thriller from writer-director David Ayer (Fury, Suicide Squad) has an added grit that helps it stand out from any other movies in its genre.

The Last Witch Hunter – Channel 4 – 11.45pm

Vin Diesel stars as an immortal witch hunter who must stop a plague from ravaging the entire world.
