The film sees Hardy play both of the Kray twins.
It is Saturday.
In my view, that’s a great day to check out some movies and TV shows.
JOE recommended a few particular ones to watch over the entire weekend in the video below.

However, for more options, here are the films on telly this Saturday evening (2 July).
Bad Boys II – Sky Showcase – 9pm
One of Danny from Hot Fuzz’s favourite movies.
Liar Liar – Comedy Central – 9pm
Jim Carrey plays a lawyer cursed to speak only the truth in this fun ’90s comedy.
Alien: Covenant – Film4 – 9pm
Though it’s not our pick for tonight, Michael Fassbender’s dual turn playing two very different androids in this horror sequel is excellent too.
After Alien: Covenant, viewers can also check out Memory: The Origins of Alien – a documentary about the franchise’s first entry – at 11.20pm on Film4.
Man of Steel – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm
Henry Cavill’s first outing as Superman.
Bad Teacher – Virgin Media Two – 9.05pm
This comedy sees Cameron Diaz play a bad teacher.
Skyscraper – RTÉ One – 9.25pm
An action-thriller that JOE previously wrote contained “The Rock’s best John McClane impression”.
Rocketman – Channel 4 – 9.30pm
Taron Egerton, the possible new Wolverine, plays Elton John in this terrifically toe-tapping musical biopic.
About Schmidt – TG4 – 9.35pm
In this acclaimed comedy-drama, a recently retired man (Jack Nicholson) embarks on a journey to his estranged daughter’s wedding.
I Know What You Did Last Summer – MTV – 10pm
While watchable, this hit slasher is not as great as its title.
Churchill – RTÉ2 – 10.05pm
Brian Cox plays Winston Churchill in the hours leading up to D-Day.
Backtrace – Syfy – 10.05pm
Sylvester Stallone and Matthew Modine star in this 2018 action drama with an 8% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
True Grit – ITV4 – 10.50pm
Jeff Bridges is excellent in this acclaimed adaptation by the Coen Brothers of the Western novel of the same name, which was previously made into a film with John Wayne.
The Void – Horror Channel – 10.50pm
In this solid H.P. Lovecraft-inspired horror, a group of people become trapped in a hospital by a gathering of hooded cultists and grotesque creatures.
Thirteen Days – RTÉ One – 11.15pm
Kevin Costner stars in this well-reviewed historical political thriller dramatising the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Legend – BBC One – 11.20pm
Based on true events, our pick for tonight tells the story of twin brothers and notorious gangsters Reggie and Ronnie Kray (both played by Tom Hardy) who operated in London from the late 1950s into the ’60s.
Despite recounting the tale of the Krays in a fairly formulaic way and often stumbling into gangster drama cliches, Hardy’s mesmerising double performance and a very stylish recreation of the London of the era makes Legend quite watchable.
Swordfish – Turner Classic Movies – 11.55pm
A turn-of-the-century action thriller JOE once described as “ridiculous”.
Head Full of Honey – RTÉ2 – 12.00am
This 2018 Nick Nolte drama has a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
