A great '80s sci-fi is among the movies on TV tonight
The movie was renowned upon release for its special effects.
Prime Video has just added one of the best war movies of recent years to its service while 12 big films have quietly joined Netflix's library.
However, for options on what to watch, here are the movies airing on TV tonight.
Military Wives - Film4 - 9pm
From the director of The Full Monty, this 2019 British comedy-drama stars Kristin Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan and centres around a group of women who, while their partners away serving in Afghanistan, form a choir and wind up a media sensation.

Black Death - Legend - 9pm
Eddie Redmayne and Sean Bean are among the cast of this medieval action horror about a group of men tasked with uncovering the truth surrounding reports of people being brought back to life in a small village.
Scanners - Horror Xtra - 10.45pm
Our pick for tonight is this 1981 sci-fi horror revolving around 'scanners', people who in the world of the movie possess extremely rare telepathic and telekinetic powers.
When one of these scanners (Michael Ironside) grows mad with power and begins a killing spree, another scanner (Stephen Lack) - still learning about the depth of his abilities - is tasked with stopping the murderer.
The breakthrough film by horror directing legend David Cronenberg (The Fly, Videodrome), Scanners boasts a highly imaginative story and groundbreaking special effects, particularly one involving a man who finds himself a target of the villain.
It also went on to inspire a series of direct-to-DVD films, while a series remake of the original is also said to be in development at HBO.
