A Harrison Ford double bill is among the movies on TV tonight

Stephen Porzio

Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford will be back on cinema screens in just a few weeks with the new Indiana Jones sequel.

Prime Video has just added 14 huge movies to its library but if none of these are for you, here are the films airing on TV tonight, starting with:

Patriot Games / Clear and Present Danger – Film4 – 9pm / 11.15pm

With Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny – Harrison Ford’s last outing as the adventurer archaeologist – out in a couple of weeks, what better time to revisit another of the Hollywood star’s iconic franchises?

In these adaptations of Tom Clancy novels, Ford plays CIA analyst Jack Ryan who, due to international conflicts (including one involving Ireland), finds himself catapulted into dangerous situations.

Exciting, stylish and filled with great supporting actors including Anne Archer, Henry Czerny, James Earl Jones, Samuel L. Jackson, Sean Bean and Willem Dafoe, these ’90s action thrillers are well worth a watch.

Halloween and The Thing director John Carpenter’s breakthrough movie, Assault on Precinct 13 remains one of the tensest, tightest thrillers of all time.
