From some absolute classics to brand new Prime Video exclusives.

Prime Video has just added quite the selection of movies to its streaming library, so if you’re looking for something to watch this evening, here are some new viewing suggestions…

THE BREAKFAST CLUB

One of the ultimate teen movies, with a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal all finding themselves in detention together, learning they have more in common than they ever could’ve realised.

CAPE FEAR

Martin Scorsese’s iconic psychological thriller sees Robert De Niro as a dangerous criminal recently released from prison, who sets his sights on his lawyer (Nick Nolte) and his family to exact some violent revenge.

CASPER

A teenage girl (Christina Ricci) and her ghost-hunter dad (Bill Pullman) move into a haunted house, but one of the ghosts inside isn’t quite like the others. A cute supernatural teen romance.

CHARLIE WILSON’S WAR

From the writer of The Social Network and Moneyball, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Emily Blunt star in this based-on-a-true-story political comedy, about a congressman who gives up his socialite lifestyle to assist the Afghans in their fight against invading Russians.

HAPPY GILMORE

Adam Sandler’s legendary comedy about a very, very, very, very angry golfer.

IN THE HEIGHTS

The cinematic adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical, about a group of friends and family in Washington Heights, and their individual dreams of better lives. We chatted to the cast about getting dance tips, and you can check out their answers right here:

INSIDE MAN

Denzel Washington teams up with director Spike Lee for this clever heist movie, in which a genius criminal (Clive Owen) targets a high-end New York bank.

MEET JOE BLACK

A tactical missile strike on your tear ducts, this THREE HOUR drama sees Brad Pitt portray Death, tagging along with Anthony Hopkins for his final days on Earth in order to learn more about humanity.

ON A WING AND A PRAYER

A Prime Video exclusive, with Dennis Quaid attempting to safely land a plane with his family on board, after the pilot suddenly dies. 13% on Rotten Tomatoes means it probably isn’t worth your time.

OPERATION FORTUNE: RUSE DE GUERRE

Another Prime Video exclusive, from the director of Snatch and The Gentlemen takes on the spy genre, with a stacked cast including Jason Statham (interview below), Hugh Grant, Josh Hartnett, Aubrey Plaza and more.

PETER PAN

A huge box office flop, but probably the best live-action Peter Pan adaptation to date, with Jason Isaacs having an absolute ball as Captain Hook.

THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING

Eddie Redmayne won the Best Actor Oscar and Felicity Jones nominated for Best Actress for their performances in this telling of genius Stephen Hawking and his wife Jane.

UNBROKEN

Angelina Jolie directs this WWII survival movie, with Jack O’Connell playing a real-life former Olympian-turned-soldier who was captured by the Japanese and held as a prisoner of war.

VAN HELSING

A $170 million action horror epic from the guy behind The Mummy, featuring Hugh Jackman as the titular monster hunter, tracking down Dracula and his minions. It should’ve been good fun… but… well… it wasn’t.
