Your Tuesday evening movie menu has arrived!
We're getting further in October, so spooky season is definitely upon us. Maybe you'll want to check out the scientifically-proven scariest movie ever made (
more on that here), but if not, there are plenty of other options to choose from on the telly this evening...
Hidden Figures - FilmFour - 6.30pm
A very entertaining true life drama about a group of black women who were intrinsically involved in first manned mission to the Moon. Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae, Kevin Costner and Kirsten Dunst feature in the cast.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - ITV4 - 8pm
Kevin Costner again, this time heading up the much-loved action adventure blockbuster. Features one of the best songs-for-movies of all time.
The Dry - Sky Showcase - 9pm
Our pick for tonight is The Dry, a murder mystery crime drama with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 90%. It tells the story of a man (Eric Bana) who returns to his small home town to attend a funeral, but his arrival reopens the investigation into the unsolved murder of a teenage girl. If you miss The Dry tonight, you can also check it out with a NOW Cinema Membership.
Mission Impossible: Fallout - FilmFour - 9pm
The sixth one. The best one.
American Pie: Reunion - Comedy Central - 9pm
Seeing adults being embarrassed of themselves doesn't make for great comedy, tbqfhwy.
Head Full Of Honey - RTÉ2 - 9pm
An older man (Nick Nolte) suffering from Alzherimer's is taken on a road trip to Venice by his granddaughter. It has a score of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, although admittedly that is off just six reviews.
The Last Black Man in San Francisco - BBC Two - 11.15pm
With a RT score of 92%, this powerful drama features a great cast including Danny Glover, Mike Epps and Jonathan Majors.
Filth - FilmFour - 11.55pm
Based on a novel by Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting), this dark crime drama tells the story of a drug-addled detective (James McAvoy) and his descent into madness during his investigation into the murder of a student.
Pixie - Channel 4 - 1.35am
A decent Irish roadtrip comedy crime drama with a very good cast including Olivia Cooke, Ben Hardy, Daryl McCormack,
Colm Meaney, Pat Shortt, Chris Walley, Fra Fee, Dylan Moran and Alec Baldwin.
Why Him? - FilmFour - 1.50am
Bryan Cranston stars as a father who doesn't like his daughter's (Zoey Deutch) new boyfriend (James Franco).
