Netflix has unveiled a teaser for its upcoming anniversary special to mark 30 years of Power Rangers.

Titled Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, it will be released later in the year on the streaming service and is described as a “scripted, stand-alone” event.

The cast members returning for the special include Catherine Sutherland (the second Pink Ranger), David Yost (the first Blue Ranger), Karan Ashley (the second Yellow Ranger), Johnny Yong Bosch (the second Black Ranger), Steve Cardenas (the second Red Ranger) and Walter Emanuel Jones (the first Black Ranger).

Also announced to be back is Barbara Goodson, the voice of franchise villain Rita Repulsa.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the special will see the Rangers come “face to face with a familiar threat from the past”.

“In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs,” the plot synopsis from the outlet states.

In the behind-the-scenes teaser for the series reunion, Sutherland says it will contain “so many little easter eggs” for fans.

“I just think it’s going to give the fans everything they want,” she adds.

Meanwhile, Yost states: “It’s such a different take on what we’ve done before but a lot of the same elements are there.”

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always will premiere on 19 April.
