Netflix confirms that a new season of Top Boy is on the way

Rudi Kinsella

Oi, where’s the food fam? Season 2 of Top Boy is on the way.

Back in 2019, Top Boy proved to be one of the easiest shows to binge-watch that Netflix has released in a long time.

It was raw, it was exciting, and the storyline was extremely interesting.

And although there had already been two seasons of the show already in Top Boy Summerhouse, the most recent one (just named Top Boy) acted brilliantly as a standalone series that needed no backstory.

Unsurprisingly, given the ending of Season 1, a second season of the show has been ordered.

The news was confirmed on the official Top Boy Facebook page, which also announced that Ashley Walters, Kane Robinson (Kano), Micheal Ward and Simbi Ajikawo ‘Little Simz’ will return as Dushane, Sully, Jamie and Shelley.

There’s no word on whether Ireland’s own Lisa Dwan will make a return to the show, although we’d be surprised if she didn’t, given how her story left off…

No release date was announced, but it was confirmed that filming for Season 2 was beginning this spring, and that the first episode of the new season would be called ‘Killing No Murder’.

Sounds about right.
