The 10 must-watch new (and old) arrivals coming to Disney+ in June

Rory Cashin

Marvel, murder mysteries & loads more added over the next 30 days!

It isn’t called Disney Minus.

It is called Disney Plus.

Because they keep adding stuff for us to watch! Here’s our highlights of what is arriving on the platform in June.

Fire Island – 3 June

A group of best friends head to the titular island for a week of LGBTQI+ fun in this queer adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved Pride & Prejudice. Check out our interviews with the cast – including the legendary Margaret Cho and SNL star Bowden Yang – right here:

Pride – 3 June

Another great LGBTQI+ movie, this time telling the true story of a group of gay activists who decide to support the miners who went on strike in Thatcher’s Britain in 1984. The movie stars Bill Nighy, George Mackay, Imelda Staunton, Paddy Considine, Andrew Scott and Dominic West.

Titanic – 3 June

We don’t really need to tell you about this one, do we? One of the biggest movies of all time? No? Good.

Ms. Marvel – 8 June

The latest Marvel show (in case the title didn’t give it away) focuses on a brand new hero, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), who discovers she’s got most mysterious new superpowers, but tries to keep it all hidden from her overprotective extended family.

First episode arrives on Wednesday, 8 June, with the rest of the season arriving weekly after that.

The Fountain – 10 June

Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Fighter) directs this epic sci-fi romance about two lovers (Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz) who meet and fall in love over and over again across thousands of years. One of the most visually gorgeous movies ever made.

Under Siege & Under Siege 2 – 17 June

Steven Seagal does his best Die Hard impression while playing a lowly cook on a US warship that has been taken over by terrorists. The train-set sequel is barely a fraction as good, but is still oddly watchable.

The Girl Next Door – 24 June

We recently caught up with this movie’s star Elisha Cuthbert (check out that chat in full right here), which was very ahead of its time in placing a sex worker front-and-centre of a teen rom-com.

Only Murders In The Building Season Two – 28 June

The first season was one of our favourite shows of 2021, so we’ve got high hopes for this follow-up. Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez all return as the true-crime podcasters who get so close to the truth of an investigation, that they become suspects in the murders themselves.

The first two episodes will debut on Tuesday, 28 June, with the rest of the season arriving weekly after that.

Atlanta Season Three – 29 June

After nearly four years off the air, one of the most beloved shows of recent years is finally back. Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, LaKeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz all return to tell the story of a rapper trying to make it big, and how that evolving state of celebrity impacts his friends and family.

All episodes of the third season will arriving on Wednesday, 29 June.

Baymax! – 29 June

Following on from the events of Big Hero 6, this new show will focus on the automated healthcare provider attempting to do what he was programmed to do… help the people of San Fransokyo.

The six-part series will kick off on Wednesday, 29 June.
