The star of The Conjuring and Insidious also has the most perfect reaction to a truly fish-y pun…

Bad guys in superhero movies, especially in the recent run of MCU and DC movies, haven’t been great.

For every Loki or Killmonger, we’ve had a handful like Malekith or Whiplash.

The reason why most bad guys are “good” is because either they’re a lot of fun, or they’re quite relatable. Patrick Wilson plays Orm as the latter in Aquaman, and over the course of the movie we find out why he has some nasty plans for the folks on the surface… and really?… a lot of them make a lot of sense to us!

JOE chatted to the actor in the lead-up to the release of the new DC superhero movie about his part in the massive blockbuster, going from everything about his amazing war cries, to training with a trident (“Not a lot of scepter work!”), to how The Conjuring and Insidious director James Wan has changed over the years.

Plus, his reaction to the truly terrible Aqua-pun really needs to be seen…

Aquaman is released in Irish cinemas on Wednesday 12 December.

We were also lucky enough to chat with the movie’s director James Wan, big bad guy Patrick Wilson, and the movie’s hero Jason Momoa!

You can check those all out on the JOE YouTube channel, and you can watch the final trailer for Aquaman right here:
