President Michael D. Higgins, Kathy Bates, Johnny Sexton, and Imelda May are set to lead Friday night’s Late Late Show lineup.

President Higgins will be celebrating his 80th birthday this weekend and will be joined by host Ryan Tubridy at Áras an Uachtaráin to discuss his hopes for Ireland’s future.

Kathy Bates, the Academy Award-winning actress and star of Misery, Titanic, and PS I Love You, will also tell how she is trying to perfect a Ballyfermot accent for her latest role.

Meanwhile, Ireland rugby captain Johnny Sexton will be chatting about his chances of making the Lions team, the return of Simon Zebo to Munster, and lending his support to DEBRA Ireland.

Claudia Scanlon will be joined by her mother Liz to speak to Ryan about living with rare health condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa, and thriving against the odds.

Singer Imelda May will also appear to give an exclusive performance of Don’t Let Me Stand on My Own, with her boyfriend Niall McNamee, from her new album 11 Past the Hour.

Bronagh Gallagher will give a debut television performance of her song Crybaby featuring Noel Hogan.

The Late Late Show will air on RTÉ One at Friday 16 April at 9.35 pm
