Netflix has just added its own version of ER and Grey’s Anatomy

Co-written by one of the team behind Lost, 10 episodes of the new medical drama are streaming now.

Created by Zoe Robyn (Hawaii Five-0), who serves as showrunner alongside TV veteran Carlton Cuse (Lost), the series takes place as a hurricane barrels towards Miami's busiest Level 1 Trauma Centre, Maguire Hospital.

The story follows third-year resident Dr. Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald), who is unexpectedly thrust into a promotion when beloved Chief Resident Dr. Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell, Ambulance) is suspended.

"Amid the worsening storm and an onslaught of trauma cases, the hospital goes into lockdown, and Danny and Xander must find a way to work together - even as the bombshell details of a complicated and illicit romance between them begin to spill out," the plot synopsis adds.

"The rest of the ER is left to process the fallout of their relationship while balancing their own challenges, both personal and professional, as they work under the pressure of life-or-death stakes."

Alongside Fitzgerald and Woodell, the cast of Pulse includes Arturo Del Puerto (For All Mankind), Jack Bannon (Pennyworth), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Jessie T. Usher (The Boys), Justina Machado (ER), Nestor Carbonell (Bates Motel) and Santiago Segura (Scream).

And given the runaway success of similar medical dramas like ER, Grey's Anatomy and The Pitt (which is yet to reach this side of the Atlantic yet), Netflix will be hoping that their latest series proves to be a big hit.
