Virgin Media aired the first episode of The Guards: Inside The K last week in what was an honest look at life as a member of An Garda Síochána in the police district covering Blanchardstown, Finglas and Cabra.
It had a huge reaction from the public, with the first episode shining a light on the escalating violence that has been terrorising the communities, much of which comes from gangs in the area.
The series goes to great lengths to highlight that much of the issues are caused by small sections of the population and are not representative of the many hard-working people from the areas.

The second episode of the five-part series airs on Wednesday night and will once again highlight issues ranging from gangland violence to drugs policing.
Virgin Media has released a sneak peek of what’s to come in this week’s episode with Gardaí highlighting the damaging effects of casual drug use and how it lines the pockets of those in organised crime.
Episode Two of The Guards: Inside The K airs on Virgin Media One on Wednesday 11 March at 9pm.
