Star Wars actor Mark Hamill should be made an honorary Irish citizen after these very kind words

Paul Moore

Luke O’Skywalker, anyone?

Mark Hamill has been the busiest man in the galaxy recently because in between his very important Jedi duties on the set of Star Wars : Episode VIII, he’s managed to hold a force like grip over the hearts of the Irish public. He didn’t even have to use the Jedi mind trick on us!

We’ve already seen Luke Skywalker proclaim his love for smokey bacon crisps, pull pints in Kerry and gush over the photography skills of John McCandless, but all of these wonderful gestures pale in comparison to his most important contribution in Ireland, making a teenage cancer survivor’s dreams come true.

Irish production may have wrapped on Rian Johnson’s eagerly anticipated film, but it looks like the Emerald Isle has made quite an impression on the actor.

Hamill may be a proud Californian, but we wonder if he fancies being made an honorary Irish citizen?

If he becomes a proud Irish man, we’ll even give him a few lessons as Gaeilge.
