The final trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker is absolutely spectacular

Paul Moore

The Rise of Skywalker

Prepare for the longest Star Wars film ever. The Force is strong with this one.

May the Force be with you. And also with you. Lift up your lightsabers. We lift them up to The Emperor.

Granted, we’re fairly certain that’s not the credo that Rey will be swearing during the final film in the latest Star Wars trilogy but after that tantalising shot of her wielding a Sith-coloured red lightsaber in the most recent trailer, all bets are off.

Will the Sith hit the fan as Rey turns to the dark side of the Force, or will Luke’s sage teachings keep her on the path of good?

Aside from this, there’s also the small matter of her parentage to deal with – we’re not buying Kylo Ren’s statement that her parents were nobodies –  and the resurgence of The Resistance against The First Order too.

Oh yeah, there’s also the small matter of The Emperor and Lando Calrissian returning too!

Tickets are now on sale and we’re delighted to say that The Rise of Skywalker will become the longest Star Wars film ever at 155 minutes or 2 hours and 35 minutes – that’s three minutes longer than The Last Jedi, as revealed by AMC.

All things considered, we think the Force will be in perfect balance by 19 December.

We’re not going to give anything away from the trailer but there are a few shots that are extremely interesting – keep an eye out for the scene with Darth Vader’s helmet.

Take a look at what’s in store.
