The first teaser has been released and fans of The Conjuring will be very interested.
With the Halloween week now upon us, there's nothing that a studio loves more than a good horror film or TV show that's inspired by real life events.
For example, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre borrowed elements from the real life killer Ed Gein, The Exorcist was based on a 1949 Washington Post article, and the first film in
The Conjuring saga was based on the real life experiences of Ed and Lorraine Warren - the paranormal investigators that were portrayed by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in James Wan's films.
Given the massive popularity of The Conjuring saga, the interest in the
upcoming documentary Ghost Adventures: Curse of the Harrisville Farmhouse has been extraordinary and the team have released the first look at what's in store.
In the brief teaser, Ghost Adventures host Zak Bagans tells us that his team have acquired "the most compelling evidence that they've ever captured" of paranormal activity.
Granted, we're still extremely sceptical but good luck to them!
To increase the interest levels, during a recent interview with the
Las Vegas Review Journal, Bagans said that he felt physically ill while making the documentary at the Harrisville Farmhouse
.
“I had to sit down, dude. It was either run or sit, because I was going down. It was just weird energy. Not normal. Not like we’ve felt before," he said.
At various points throughout the house, Bagans said that he had extreme feelings of dizziness, anxiety and agitation, along with difficulty breathing and kidney pain.
“I was extremely ill, very sick, for about three weeks after that. I wasn’t myself, albeit I was on a long trip. There were things going on with me that just seemed out of the norm. It really, I believe, made me sick. I had anxiety and panic levels that were just so unusual. Just that feeling of sickness.
"I didn’t look like myself. I didn’t feel like myself. I didn’t wanna be around anybody. I never felt possessed, but I felt like something was drawing the life out of me," he said.
For the two-hour documentary, the Ghost Adventures team is joined by demonologist brothers Carl and Keith Johnson - they investigated the farmhouse before the Warrens first set foot on the property.
Aside from this, a former resident of the alleged haunted house, Andrea Perron, is also assisting the Ghost Adventures crew with their investigation. Film fans will remember that it was the hauntings of the Perron family that was depicted in the first Conjuring film.
In real life, the property in Rhode Island was home to eight generations of the Arnold family before the Perron family even lived there, but it has a history of tragedies and uncommon deaths.
“What we can’t argue is the fact that there was a huge curse put on the Arnold family. I mean, there was suicide. There was murder. There was just unusual deaths. Poisonings, throats being slit. Something was plaguing that family," said Bagans.
Ghost Adventures: Curse of the Harrisville Farmhouse premieres in the US on 31 October. At present, the show does not have a premiere date for viewers in Ireland and the UK. Ghost Adventures airs on the station Really in Ireland and the UK.
