The Host is a new sci-fi action movie starring Irish actress Saoirse Ronan.

Saoirse Ronan is a great one for the odd movies. Kicking off her career in Atonement with Keira Knightly, she quickly became the go-to actress for serious teenager parts such as Hannah, The Way Back and The Lovely Bones.
No Disney princess for her. Now she is starring as the lead role in The Host, a movie based on the book by Stephanie Myers (of dare we say it, Twilight fame).
The Host is a story about a world taken over by alien life form. The aliens inject themselves into the human bodies, and like a parasite they take over.
This sounds a lot like an old TV show called Animorphs…
Anyway, Saoirse plays Mel, one of few human rebels. She gets captured and somehow manages to flood her parasite alien with her loving memories of her family and boyfriend. Her parasite, known as Wanda, is convinced and sets out to find the lot in the desert.
However, Wanda is working undercover and supposed to lead The Seeker (Diane Kruger) and the other aliens to find the left over rebels. Whatever will happen next?
Also starring William Hurt, Jake Abel and Frances Fisher. Directed by Andrew Niccol, famous for Lord of War and Gattaca.
