VIDEO: Louis Theroux’s new documentary about Scientology looks excellent

Louis Theroux documentaries

This looks very interesting.

We were absolutely delighted to hear that our favourite journalist and interviewer is coming back to our screens with three controversial new documentaries but Louis Theroux isn’t a man to rest on his laurels and he’s returning to examine a topic that’s close to his heart.

Theroux’s three specials on alcoholism, brain damage and Jimmy Saville are set to air on BBC2 later this year but the award-winning documentary-maker also has his sights set on the big screen.

My Scientology Movie features Theroux attempting to unravel the secrets, truths and mysteries that surround the much criticised Scientology organisation. The documentary will feature reconstructions, a first for Theroux, as well as interviews with former Scientologists but what makes this documentary unique is when the Scientologists found out that Theroux was making the documentary, they sent their own film crew to make a documentary about him.

Take a look.

My Scientology Movie screened at The London Film Festival to excellent reviews and we can’t wait to see it. Here’s hoping that it gets an Irish release.
