Video: Republic of Telly’s ‘Dances with Caoimhín’ sketch tonight was very, very good

Síle Seoige looking well, a splash of our native language and a cameo from the one and only Aonghus McAnally; what more could you ask for from a Republic of Telly sketch?

Every Irish red-blooded male worth his salt will admit to having a grá for Síle Seoige after seeing her grace our screens in recent years, but as Republic of Telly’s Kevin McGahern found out in a brilliant sketch on tonight’s show, she doesn’t fall for the charms of any ordinary man.

With help from Bernard O’Shea, Kevin went on a quest to develop a greater understanding of the Irish language in an attempt to lure the lovely Sile but would he be able to overcome his linguistic difficulties, not to mention the not insignificant obstacle posed by the great Aonghus McAnally, on the road to romance?

If you haven’t seen it, you can find out in the video above, but even if you have we’d recommend watching it all over again; it’s well worth it.
