Video: The red-band trailer for Deadpool is unlike any comic-book film that you’ve ever seen

We liked the little dig at Green Lantern

We liked the little dig at Green Lantern.

I think that the standard protocol for any comic-book film is to stress that it’s darker, more dangerous and entirely different to anything else that you’ve seen in the cinema before.

Having seen the bonkers trailer for Deadpool , I can happily say that the Ryan Reynolds led film looks like it’s going to be one of the most unique comic-book films that has ever been made.

Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

If you feel that you’ve seen to many orbs of mystical power, rampant destruction of cities or aerial dogfights then this should be the comic-book film for you.

The trailer really plays to Ryan Reynolds comedic strengths and it’s impossible not to get a strong vibe of Kick-Ass, The Mask and Shoot ‘Em Up from this one.
