Idris Elba takes on the role of the iconic South African leader in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom
With it being Nelson Mandela’s birthday yesterday (95 years old no less), this trailer for what looks to be his epic biopic couldn’t have come at a better time.
It stars Idris Elba (who we met only the other day, and we’re best mates now) in the titular role, and it promises to tell the story of the leader that we’re all familiar with, but the man that we never knew.
Undoubtedly, this will be a big hit when it comes out, and given the nature of the role and the timing, it could well see Idris scooping a few awards too.
